According to Robbie, getting married wasn't that much of an adjustment. She revealed that she and her now-husband were roommates long before they even started dating. "I'm kind of living with my roommate and it's awesome," she said at the Goodbye Christopher Robin movie premier. "We lived with a bunch of people and now we're just living [as] the two of us, so we feel very grown up now."
Initial reports claimed that Robbie and Ackerley met in 2013, on the set of their World War II film Suite Fançaise. It's unclear if the two were living together at the time of the movie's production, but one thing is certain—whatever path brought them together worked. Following a secret engagement, the couple exchanged vows in Australia last December. After rumors circulated, Robbie confirmed the happy news with a caption-less photo on Instagram, showing off her pear-shaped engagement ring.
After the wedding, the couple left to work on the film, I, Tonya, together, which meant delaying their honeymoon. "We did this film instead of our honeymoon. There were times we were sitting in a car parked in Atlanta freezing cold being like, 'We should be on a beach right now. We should be on a honeymoon. What are we doing?!' Following our dream," the actress told Extra TV in September. The two did get a chance to take a trip after the movie wrapped, but like her engagement and wedding, Robbie kept the tropical location private. "It was great," she said, of the downtime. As for starting a family? "There's no time for that," Robbie said. "We have a puppy."
