Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wasted no time in making their first public appearance after announcing their engagement early this morning. The couple posed for photos in Kensington Palace's Sunken Garden, where Harry told reports that he knew his fiancé was "the one" from "the very first time we met," CNN reports.
Although the couple chose not to disclose the details of the proposal, both Harry and Meghan agreed that it was a romantic moment (how could it not be?), and the bride-to-be added that she was "so very happy" to be engaged.

Even better, Meghan showed off her new engagement ring, which was designed by the prince himself and made by Cleave and Company, jewelers to the Queen. According to a statement from Kensington Palace, the ring includes a large center diamond from Botswana paired with two smaller outer diamonds from Princess Diana's personal collection, all set on a gold band.
Kensington Palace announced that the couple will marry in the spring of 2018, meaning wedding planning is likely already underway. While we likely won't learn who will design Meghan's wedding dress before the big day, she has given some major clues about her bridal style. In an interview with Glamour, the actress named a few of her favorite bridal designers. "Delphine Manivet and Christos Costarellos are faves of mine for their uniqueness and beauty," she said. "And I will always be a fan of Ellie Saab. J. Mendell is spectacular as well, especially for the more structural designs."
She may love those designers and their unique takes on bridal fashion, but Meghan will likely go for something more traditional. "Classic and simple is the name of the game, perhaps with a modern twist. I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic," she said, noting that Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's gown is her all-time favorite celebrity wedding dress, calling the sleek silhouette "everything goals."
