Jennifer Lopez Has the Best Advice for Brides Who Have Postponed Their Weddings Due to COVID-19
Your new plan might be even better than the original, she says.
Like many newlyweds-to-be, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have put their wedding plans on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic; the couple of three years planned to walk down the aisle this summer. But according to Page Six, Jennifer is trying to look on the bright side—a practice that all brides, celebrities or not, could benefit from right now: "I'm a little heartbroken because we did have some great plans," she said during a virtual appearance on the Today Show. "But I'm also like, you know what? God has a bigger plan so we just have to wait and see. Maybe it's going to be better. I have to believe that it will be."
The singer and actress also revealed that they won't be making any new big-day plans at this time. "There's no planning right now. You just have to kind of wait and see how this all plays out," she told the hosts. "It's disappointing on one level. We had a lot of plans for this summer and this year, but everything's kind of on hold right now."
While the couple is still figuring out their next move, Jennifer did note that she is cherishing the time she and Alex are spending at home, adding that it's a welcome break from her hectic work schedule. "I've been so on the run for the past few years that it's nice to be home. I planned to take a little time off after the whole Super Bowl thing and 'World of Dance' that I just finished filming a few weeks ago, so it's been nice so far," she said during an at-home broadcast of the Ellen DeGeneres Show in April, USA Today reported. "Right now it's kind of making lemonade out of lemons."
Having Alex and her family close is helping her navigate the chaos, she added. "It's a terrible time for all of us, and a weird time, a scary time, anxious time," she told the host. "We don't know what's going to happen, but having a reconnection with the family and Alex and not having to run around so much, it's kind of nice, too."
