The Coronavirus Might Delay Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman's Wedding
The Today Show anchor is now rethinking sending out their save-the-dates.
Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman are joining the ranks of many other brides- and grooms-to-be who are now considering placing wedding plans on hold as the novel coronavirus pandemic continues to impact the world. According to People, Hoda shared that she and her fiancé were "literally about to push the button on the save-the-dates," she said. "We kind of have our reservations, we know what we want to do, but who's to know if it's going to need to be delayed? So Joel and I have been discussing it."
While the duo is excited to start their next chapter, the journalist said that she's just thankful that they will have the moment to look forward to, even if they do have to put their nuptials on the back burner for now. "If you're planning a celebration, and you're wondering when it should be, just be lucky you have a celebration to plan," she said.
Hoda candidly noted that she "already feel[s] married" to her fiancé, and she also shared that their big day will be a moment to remember whenever it happens. "I'm so happy to say 'I do' and I'm also happy to do it whenever we need to, but as far as I'm concerned, it's a formality now."
Even though the couple still has plenty of decisions to make, Hoda already has the wedding's theme down pat—and it's also a reflection of what she says her future will look like. "All I want it to be is fun and happy and I just want everybody to feel easy breezy. No coordinated bridesmaids," Hoda previously told People. "Come as you are. That's the theme of the rest of my life."
