Although David and Victorian Beckham have been together for more than two decades, the athlete still vividly recalls the moment he first met his wife at a soccer game back in 1997. Here's proof: The athlete kept the very train ticket his now-wife wrote her phone number on all those years ago, as a memento of the start of their epic romance.

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the former Manchester United player recalled how he struck up a conversation with the Spice Girl and "had a few drinks" in the players lounge, The Daily Mail reports.

It turns out that David's interest in Victoria actually blossomed a few weeks prior, when he spotted her at one of his games along with Sporty Spice, Melanie Chisholm. "We knew of [the Spice Girls], obviously, because they were pretty big at the time, and I was just establishing myself in the Manchester United team," he recalled. "I didn't get to talk to her that day, but then the week after, she came back up to Manchester to watch another game."

Determined this time not to let the pop star slip away, David revealed that he finally decided to ask for Posh Spice's number. "We talked for about an hour in the player's lounge. And she'd actually got the train up that day, so she wrote her number down on her train ticket, which I still have," he shared. According to The Daily Mail, Jimmy said, "And here you are 20 years later." "20 years later, and four kids later," David affirmed.
