Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Reportedly Moving to Los Angeles for the Summer
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are allegedly planning yet another move after taking a step back from their royal roles.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have their eyes set on a summer home—and it just so happens to be in the United States. According to E! News, a source close to the royal couple revealed that they are hoping to relocate to Los Angeles for part of the upcoming season. "They have started to look at homes online and are in the process of interviewing security teams. They are getting their ducks in a row and seeing if it's logistically possible," the source shared.
This news comes shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a step back from their official duties—and made a slew of other changes in their lives. The move to Los Angeles would be yet another change of scenery; the duo just relocated to their current home in Canada, shortly after transitioning out of Frogmore Cottage in the United Kingdom. The source added that they are already making preparations to move a second time, to California: "They've reached out to people in L.A. and would like to assemble a team of locals."
The insider also shared that Meghan would like more flexibility in her everyday life, something that residing in Los Angeles might afford her. "Meghan would like to be able to do meetings at the house and also be able to host friends and entertain. Those are two things that are important to her," the source said.
While this move would be another life adjustment for the royal couple, they have the support from the Queen as they continue their transition. She previously released a public statement, in which she expressed an understanding of why the pair might want a more separate life. "Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be much loved members of my family. I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life," she said.
