On their first trip to Napa Valley, California, Jacob Dadon asked Andrea Fischmann to marry him—and so, it was only fitting that a year later, in October 2018, the couple hosted a wedding in the place that had been a such a big part of their love story. (Meadowood Napa Valley, however, makes an epic backdrop, no matter the story.) "We chose Napa because we got engaged there, and loved the place and how serene it was," says Andrea. "We chose Meadowood Napa Valley because it was the most beautiful storybook hotel." Plus, it had plenty of room to house the couple's 140 guests.
With the help of wedding planner Lisa Vorce, Andrea and Jacob designed a celebration that could "incorporate the beauty of Napa" without competing with it, Andrea says. She adds, "We had most of the wedding events either in a winery or outside, because that is what Napa is all about. We wanted the beauty of Napa to shine through." That meant working inside a color palette of ivory and green and enhancing these earthy shades with many natural elements—think sprigs of greenery, potted trees, and wood—both in the décor and the lush, organic floral arrangements designed by Max Gill Design.
Despite their wedding's beauty—and it was truly beautiful, from the rehearsal dinner to the reception—Andrea says what made it really special were the people who attended. "Our wedding was special because we got to share it with our family and friends in a place that means a lot to us," Andrea says.
The Rings
While Andrea had previously told Jacob what she wanted in an engagement ring—a haloed oval diamond—he "passed my expectations," she explains, "because it is gorgeous and my dream ring!" The couple chose Cartier wedding bands; Jacob's featured three shades of gold.
The Invitations
The couple's invitations—created by Wiley Valentine—were designed on linen-hued paper and featured gold lettering. "Our invitations were very Napa," Andrea says.
Rehearsed and Ready
Andrea and Jacob kicked of their wedding weekend with a dinner at Promontory Winery; the bride wore a short black number—the opposite of what she'd slip into on the big day—for the occassion.
Fine Dining
Lined by wine barrels, the long rehearsal dinner table tapped into the couple's Napa-everything theme. Simple potted grass plants added an organic touch to the tablescape, but didn't draw attention away from the unique interior.
A Fresh Setup
The place settings, which involved wood-handled cutlery and creamy woven place mats, were topped off with a sprig of aromatic sage.
"The" Wedding Dress
From the moment she tried on her Oscar de la Renta wedding dress, "I knew it was the dress," says Andrea. It featured floral appliqués on the bodice and a tulle skirt. She paired the garment with a cathedral-length veil, also from Oscar de la Renta, with flower-edge details.
A Family Tradition
Andrea's lily of the valley bouquet, made by Max Gill Design, was delicate—and very special. As she explains, "My mom walked down [the aisle] with the same flowers."
The Groom's Look
Jacob donned a Tom Ford tuxedo. "The shopping experience was great, because my father and brother went with Jacob to get his tux and they all ended up wearing Tom Ford and were able to share the experience together," Andrea explains.
Bridesmaids in Black
Andrea asked her bridesmaids to choose their own floor-length black dresses. "I wanted everyone to be comfortable and express themselves," she says. The look was chic and streamlined.
Bridesmaids' Bouquets
Bridesmaids carried small ivory-and-green bouquets, mimicking the bride's.
The Littlest Attendant
The couple's flower girl wore a white dress—"It was the cutest dress for the cutest girl," Andrea says—and a white-and-green flower crown.
Ceremony Site
Andrea and Jacob held their wedding ceremony on Meadowood Napa Valley's golf course, setting up wood chairs decked in green garlands.
The Chuppah
For the couple's traditional Jewish ceremony, they had a flower-covered chuppah. The ceremony site "was perfectly in line with the Redwood trees that framed the chuppah," Andrea says.
Light Bites
The couple's cocktail hour took place in front of a clear tent built on the golf course. "We served appetizers and had a bar that served the best cocktails," Andrea says.
Find Your Seats
Guests found their escort cards on the way to the bar.
A Fresh Display
The calligraphed notes were tucked into fresh olive leaves, which were placed in wooden boxes.
One Epic Tent
Andrea and Jacob welcomed guests into the clear tent for the reception. "It was breathtaking," Andrea says. "The tent was out of a storybook. It was exactly what we pictured." The space featured lights dripping from the ceiling and olive trees on the sides.
On the Menu
Menus—printed with guests' names—were placed at each setting. The three-course dinner included a pasta dish with truffles, Andrea says, which was her favorite.
The Bride's Favorite Treat
For favors, Andrea and Jacob let guests pick treats from a candy bar, "because I love candies!" Andrea says. "Everyone took home a bag of whatever candies they chose."
The Cake
The duo's three-tier cake was almost naked, decorated with a thin layer of ivory icing and fresh flowers.
First Dance
"Our first dance was perfect. It was to Ed Sheeran's song 'Perfect,' and, even though we didn't really practice, it turned out amazing and exactly how we would have pictured it," says the bride.
