Hanna and Will first crossed paths at a party. After eyeing one another from across the room for quite some time, Will finally made a move and said hello. Three days later, they went on their first date—and five years after that, while they were on a Lake Tahoe ski lift, Will asked Hanna to be his wife. But it was November 10, 2018—the day the couple wed at Villa Royale Hotel in Palm Springs, California—that was "the happiest, most beautiful, and love-filled day we could have ever wanted," Hanna says.
The couple worked with event planner Amorology to create a wedding that was "fun for everyone and something to remember," the bride continues. One detail that made the event—and the entire weekend—special and memorable was the fact that, between the couple and their 150 guests, they had the entire hotel to themselves. "Being able to have the entire hotel from Friday afternoon to Sunday was amazing," says Hanna. "It gave both our families the ability to spend more time with each other and it truly felt like a weekend-long celebration. Everything took place on-site."
The couple's color scheme comprised of creams and soft pinks with pops of green and mustard as accents. The Dainty Lion Floral Co. created gorgeous arrangements using the palette as inspiration, incorporating blooms and fall-appropriate leaves. Looking back, Hanna admits that "weddings can be a lot of work." And that's why she recommends that brides "accept help where you can. But also—enjoy it."

The Invitations
The couple's invitations were created by Prim and Pixie, who accented cream cards pressed with foil with modern stars and lines to add visual interest to the pieces.
Bride's Dress
When it came time to find a wedding dress, Hanna knew she wanted something simple. So when she first spotted her Sarah Seven gown with its fuller skirt, "I thought I was not going to like it," Hanna admits. "But as soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the dress." Hanna fell for its exposed back and its rich, elegant fabric. "I didn't want to take it off."
First Look
Hanna and Will had a first look—and it was a good thing they did, because "we were both excited and anxious to just see each other," says Hanna. But "once we saw each other, we felt a lot better, more relaxed, and just ready for the day." In fact, she adds that, "I think that was the most nerve-wracking part—everything after was just fun."
Bridesmaids' Dresses
The bride's four bridesmaids chose their own black floor-length dresses.
Bride's Bouquet
Hanna's "loose and lush" bouquet was made from flowers like roses and ranunculus in blush, cream, and mauve tones—and, as the bride says, was "simply stunning!"
Floral Bracelets
In place of traditional corsages, the couple gave out floral wristlets to VIP wedding party members.
The Ceremony
The couple held their ceremony on the lawn at Villa Royale Hotel, along a greenery-covered wall with palm trees peeking out above. White metal chairs kept the overall look of the ceremony modern.
The Backdrop
The Dainty Lion Floral Co. created a contemporary ceremony backdrop made from metal wire; blush-and-peach floral arrangements crawled up the structure.
Special Touches
Will's uncle officiated the ceremony; the couple wrote their own vows. After sealing their union with a kiss, they recessed back up the grass aisle to "Rather Be" by Clean Bandit.
Cocktail Hour
Hanna and Will held their cocktail hour beside the hotel's pool, serving various drinks alongside unique appetizers like chickpea purée with flatbread, halloumi crostini, pork belly skewers, smoked mussel conserva, and olive tapenade crostini.
Colorful Cocktails
Even the newlyweds' cocktails matched their color palette.
Sign Here
The couple used a Palm Springs coffee table book as their guest book, asking guests to sign the photo-filled pages for a keepsake that spoke to their locale.
Nesting Doll Escort Cards
Hanna and Will used color-coordinating Russian nesting dolls as escort cards, asking a calligrapher to write guests' names and their table numbers on the adorable trinkets.
His and Hers
The bride and groom's nesting dolls were just a bit bigger than their guests'.
The Reception
The reception was also held outside; long wooden hairpin tables and white midcentury-modern chairs were positioned beneath café lights and palm trees.
The Décor
At the head table, pink plates sat on mustard runners; brass flatware, crystal coupes, and rose-colored goblets brought additional layers of color to the tabletop. "We added simple napkins to each setting with copper napkin rings and menus," Hanna says.
Table Numbers
Russian nesting dolls were also used for table numbers.
The Menu
"The food was amazing," Hanna says of their dinner, which included fettoush salad, roasted root vegetables, and octopus salad to start. "We had so much," she says.
Lounge Seating
Guests were invited to relax in colorful lounge areas created with an eclectic mix of funky, modern, and vintage furniture.
Wedding Cake
Hanna and Will's white wedding cake was decorated with geometric accents—which referenced their structural ceremony backdrop.
First Dance
On a white dance floor, Hanna and Will shared their first dance to "I'm Glad There Is You" by Julie London.
Reflecting on the big day as a whole, the bride says she'd change just one thing: "If there was only one thing that I could change, it would for the wedding to be longer—I never wanted it to end!"
