The Prettiest Dresses for Your Junior Bridesmaids
If you have a family member who is too old to be a flower girl, yet a bit too young to be a bridesmaid, there's still a role for her in your wedding: junior bridesmaid. Usually hovering around the young teenage or tween years (girls between the ages of 10 and 14 typically fit the bill), your junior bridesmaid can wear a similar dress to the ones your bridesmaids are wearing—assuming it's age-appropriate.
It can be a tricky dress to pick out, though, as those years are so much of an in-between stage: poofy, "cutesy" dresses that look adorable on flower girls will most likely be too juvenile for junior bridesmaids, but at the same time, dresses with revealing necklines or high slits should be saved for your older bridesmaids. If you want everyone to match, try looking for gowns that have a classic cap-sleeve and crew neckline, or a similar classic style that anyone could wear, no matter what their age is. For shorter styles, a traditional sleeveless A-line dress with a knee- or tea-length hemline always look pretty and elegant. If you're having your girls wear different dresses, try heading into the ready-to-wear section at department stores: a variety of women's designers are adding collections for younger girls into their collections. Plus, asking your attendants to wear mismatched attire means it'll be easier for you to find an appropriate dress for everyone in the group.
