Like many Game of Thrones fans, Joe Jonas is mourning the end of the eight-season-long show. But he's not entirely devastated—in fact, he's feeling more grateful to the HBO series than ever. Jonas took to Twitter to tell his followers just what the drama meant to him—even crediting it for his marriage to one of its leading ladies, Sophie Turner.
Shortly after the finale wrapped, Jonas posted a photo of himself alongside a caption that praised the series and thanked it for introducing him to his wife for the first time: "When you realize @GameOfThrones is over vibes…Congratulations to everyone that worked on this incredible show! Life changing television. I have you to thank for introducing me to the incredible @SophieT long live the QUEEN OF THE NORTH."
The two married earlier this month in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony after the Billboard Music Awards. But, believe it or not, the wedding almost didn't happen. Turner opened up to The Sunday Times recently and admitted that she and Jonas got cold feet. "It was the worst day of our lives," she said. But it didn't last long: "For a second we both had cold feet, then 24 hours later we were both, like, 'Never mind.'"
In the interview, the actress also told the outlet how Jonas helped her through a tough time in her life, taught her how to cope with life in the spotlight, and showed her how to love herself. "I think he kind of saved my life, in a way," she said. "He was, like, 'I can't be with you until you love yourself, I can't see you love me more than you love yourself.' That was something, him doing that."
