Hilary Duff is officially engaged! The actress took to Instagram on Thursday to announce the engagement with a photo of her and her new finacé, Matthew Koma. The post was captioned, "He asked me to be his wife," and gave fans a first look at her newest accessory: an elongated cushion-cut diamond with a gold band. Koma also shared the happy news to his social media: "I asked my best friend to marry me," to which Duff responded, "Thanks for the promotion babe."
Duff and Koma have quite the history together. They first met in 2015 when they collaborated on her album Breathe In. Breathe Out. At the time, a source close to Us Weekly claimed that the two instantly had "great chemistry in the studio." It wasn't until 2016 that the pair started dating.
Although they were on and off at first, Duff and Koma paired back up for good in September 2017. Duff commented on her and Koma's reconciliation later that year. "I think [if] you have history and a past with someone and love—and just because it doesn't work out the first time, the second time, as long as there's not too much damage done—then, it can always work out again," she said on The Talk in December 2017, reports Us Weekly.
In June 2018, the Younger star announced that she and Koma were expecting a little girl. "Guess what guys! @matthewkoma and I made a little princess of our own and we couldn't be more excited!" Duff wrote on Instagram. She gave birth to their daughter Banks Violet Bair on October 25, 2018. Duff also has a 6-year-old boy, Luca Cruz, who she shares with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie.
