The Perfect Shoes to Wear to Your Beach Wedding
When we think of a beach wedding, we think of carefree, effortless glamour. To us, that means a bride wearing her hair down in textured waves, a simple, easy-to-maneuver (read: easy-to-dance in) white slip dress, minimal accessories, and, of course, fuss-free but elegant shoes. While you could definitely go barefoot for the ceremony, you'll probably want a pair of shoes to have on hand, too.
So, what makes a shoe worthy of wearing for a beach wedding? We think they should be three things: easy to slip on and off; sturdy enough to not sink into the sand; and a style that you won't fill with sand every five minutes. The gist?Save the sky-high stilettos for the country club and go for a polished version of sandals, slides, or block heels. Shoes that have crochet and weaved detailing will also look great on the beach, as will those with more traditional lace accents. In fact, we think an open-toe T-strap flat with lace detailing is the perfect beach-ready version of a classic wedding shoe. Glamorous brides, don't worry: You can still add a little shine to your beach wedding look. You don't need to wear a lot of jewelry, but we do suggest adding a bit of sparkle in the form of your footwear, whether that means silver metallic ballet flats or flat sandals with little jewels.
No matter what big-day shoe look you like best, you'll be able to find a beach-worthy iteration on the market. The options, you'll realize, are almost endless—even when it comes to footwear that works with the sand and surf.
