Love is in the air for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, but it seems like it has been that way since the beginning. The couple started dating two years ago right before Valentine's Day, and while their relationship was still new, that didn't stop the athlete from celebrating the romantic holiday. On Wednesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live, the singer shared the first Valentine's Day gift he ever gave her, noting that it let her know how much he cared.
As it turns out, Lopez was completely surprised by Rodriguez's romantic gesture. "It was nice because it was a couple of weeks later," Lopez said. "I remember I was doing my show in Vegas and I got to Vegas and I was tired and there was all these flowers and chocolates and a cake and everything and I was like, 'Who sent me all that?' I didn't know who it was kind of, because it was kind of new. But it was really nice because it made me feel like, 'Oh, you like me!'"
Since then the gifts have kept coming. The couple recently celebrated their two year anniversary this month and, of course, the gifts were just as extravagant. The two purchased a "fixer upper" that they plan on rennovating. Because Lopez is admittedly obsessed with the HGTV show of the same name, Rodriguez arranged a chat with one of the show's hosts, Joanna Gaines. "And he opens up the FaceTime and it's Joanna Gaines! I totally fangirled out!" Lopez recently recalled on Ellen. "I was like oh my God! Are you kidding me right now?! And I'm looking at him and I was like, 'You listen to me.'"
But it wasn't just all gifts and surprises for their second year anniversary—the two also took to Instagram to post heartfelt messages to each other. "Macha 13, I can't believe it's been two years," Rodriguez wrote to Lopez. "Only 730 days, which have flown by, but it feels like we have been together forever. We are meant to be, and how much you mean to me cannot be put into words." The athlete's message was just as sweet. "Like you there is none other. Words will never do justice to what the last two years have meant to me. Thank you for always being you, for your unwavering support and unconditional love," he adorably concluded. "Te amo mucho, Lola."
