After nearly six months of dating, Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger are engaged. The actor confirmed the engagement this morning on his Instagram stating, "Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I'm thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!" The couple was first spotted back in June during a Father's Day picnic in Santa Barbara, California. According to People, they were introduced through Maria Shiver, Schwarzenegger's mother.
A source also told the outlet that Schwarzenegger has bonded Pratt's young son Jack—their connection helped Pratt realize that she was the one. "Family is very important to both of them, as well as their spirituality," the source said. "She's very, very sweet and maternal and great with his son."
Even though the couple has remained notoriously private throughout their relationship, the actor has, from time to time, taken to Instagram to show his affection for his future bride. He gave Schwarzenegger a special birthday shout-out in December 2018, which effectively confirmed their romance. "Happy Birthday Chief! Your smile lights up the room. I've cherished our time together. Thrilled God put you in my life. Thankful for the laughs, kisses, talks, hikes, love and care."
The couple's engagement news comes just days after Pratt helped his wife-to-be move from her Santa Monica home on Friday. Although the couple have only been together for a little over six months, rumors of engagement started circulating a few months ago. "They're both serious about the relationship and hopeful for the future," another source told People. "Chris doesn't just date to date, and neither does Katherine. She's very excited." According to the source, the couple just clicked. "Chris and Katherine are very happy together," added the source. "They're very compatible and have a lot in common."
