Priyanka Chopra's Traditional Reception Dress Took 80 Craftsman 12,000 Hours to Make
The gown included hand-embroidered motifs inspired by the couple's wedding.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' wedding weekend was full of love, blended family traditions, and, of course, incredible fashion. One of the more noteworthy parts of the duo's first celebration was the bride's semi-sheer Ralph Lauren wedding dress and 75-foot-long veil-collectively, the garments took over 1,800 hours to make. However, another one of Chopra's wedding ensembles took even longer to come together, reports E! News.
For her reception, Chopra donned a statement silver-blush lehenga, which was designed by Falguni Shane Peacock. The bespoke masterpiece featured intricate bead- and crystal-work and, according to an Instagram post from the designer, took 80 craftsmen 12,000 hours to bring to life.
Much like her custom Ralph Lauren bridal gown, Chopra's lehenga incorporated sentimental details. The hand-embroidered dress included motifs from the couple's nuptials, including elephants, birds, flowers, and butterflies. The actress accessorized the lavish look with diamond earrings, a statement necklace by Khanna Jewelers, and her new wedding ring.
The couple's large reception took place at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi, where they celebrated their union with their 1,000 guests. The star-studded event not only included major Western celebrities like Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, but was also attended by several Bollywood stars. According to a source close to the couple, the reception was one of the pair's wedding highlights: "Their moods were very jubilant," the insider said. "[Chopra] was happy and addressing everyone in the party. She was also being very accommodating to the photographers. She and Jonas look like they are on top of the world."
