Danielle Fishel Chose This Beyoncé Song for Her First Dance
The hit was performed live by John Mayer.
Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel married her longtime love, Jensen Karp, last weekend in front of their closest family and friends-which included quite a few celebrities, including Lauren Lapkus and Angela Trimbur. The actress just revealed that their wedding party was just as star-studded: John Mayer, one of Karp's closest friends, stood in as groomsman. As a gift to the bride and groom, he also provided the soundtrack to the couple's first dance.
In an Instagram post, the actress shared a video of the musician performing a cover of Beyoncé's "XO" with an acoustic guitar and harmonica. The footage was taken during the reception, which was held at Carondelet House in Los Angeles, reports Us Weekly.
Fishel went on to thank the "Search for Everything" artist for both his performance and friendship. "Jensen brought many new and wonderful friends into my life and the friendship of @johnmayer is at the top of the list. His immense talent is only overshadowed by his humor, his heart, his sincerity, his loyalty, his candor, and his generous spirit," she wrote. "We are beyond grateful and thrilled that he was not only a groomsman but agreed to sing our first dance song."
If photo evidence is any indication, the reception wasn't all work and no play for Mayer. Here's proof: The singer photobombed a picture of former Boy Meets World actors Ben Savage and Will Friedle, which was then posted on social media. "I'm that guy at the wedding," Mayer commented on the image (the bride responded that she wouldn't have had it any other way.) Fishel and Karp's party marks Mayer's second wedding as of late-he most recently attended Bob Saget's nuptials to Kelly Rizzo earlier this month, which he called a "beautiful thing" in an Instagram post.
