Zoë Kravitz and her boyfriend, actor Karl Glusman, took their two-year-long relationship to the next level in February—a secret the Big Little Lies star just revealed in a Rolling Stone cover story. According to the actress, she and Glusman became engaged back in February, but that they "haven't told the world" for privacy reasons, reports People.
"Oh yeah, I'm engaged," Kravitz confirmed after the reporter acknowledged her engagement ring. "I haven't told anyone yet—I mean, I haven't told the world. I wanted to keep it private." The diamond in question, however, hasn't been under wraps at all—Kravitz actually debuted the oval-cut stone (it also appears to have a diamond band) at the 2018 Met Gala in May.
Glusman's proposal was just as easy-going as Kravtiz's nonchalant announcement, she noted. "I was in sweatpants," she recalled of the moment, which took place in the duo's living room. Her fiancé, though, wasn't at all calm before popping the question: "I could feel his heart beating so fast—I was like, 'Baby, are you OK?' I was actually worried about him!"
The reason for Glusman's nerves? Unfortunately, his original proposal plan—the pair was scheduled to depart on a romantic trip through Paris—got derailed by their conflicting work schedules. But Kravitz actually preferred the small, at-home moment to the intended over-the-top gesture. "He nailed it," she said. "And I love that it wasn't this elaborate plan in Paris."
