There's a new royal baby on the way! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just announced that they're expecting their first child. The baby is due this spring. The couple shared their happy news in a series of social media announcements this morning.

"Their Royal Highness The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019," the announcement on Instagram. "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."

According to People, Meghan is roughly 12-weeks pregnant and "feeling well." Naturally, both families are thrilled about the couple's good news. Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, released a statement through Kensington Palace about her first grandchild: "Ms. Ragland is very happy about this lovely news and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild."

Prince William and Kate Middleton-who have three children of their own-are similarly excited. The couple said that they're "delighted" about the news, as are Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, People reports.

The happy news comes just five months after Meghan and Harry's wedding, which comes as little surprise to their fans. Both have made it clear that starting a family was important to them. In May, Harry told a reporter that he hoped to start a family in "the near future."
