Nowadays, brides are looking way beyond the traditional wedding dress when it comes to what they wear down the aisle. That includes actress Denise Richards, who tied the knot with husband Aaron Phypers in a luxe bridal romper! The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star just explained her unconventional fashion choice to People.

"I didn't want to do a traditional wedding dress," she shared. "I wore a traditional dress for my first wedding, so I wanted something different this time." That wasn't the only reason, however-it also had to do with her cool exit strategy. "My dress was actually a romper which was perfect since we left the reception on Aaron's motorcycle," she revealed.

Richards' wedding dress wasn't entirely nontraditional, though. While she opted to wear shorts, that didn't stop the star from embracing an overskirt. "I didn't take the tulle skirt off until I got on his bike. I loved the skirt so much I wore it the entire evening," she admitted. As we previously reported, Richards and Phypers tied the knot in a whirlwind celebration just days after their engagement was announced. In turn, the bride's wedding dress designer, Mark Zunino, had just 24 hours to complete her look. Luckily, the fashion pro took the challenge in stride and gave Richards the "fun and sexy" style she craved, she told People.

She also explained that her relationship status isn't as sudden as it may appear. "Aaron and I have been together since June 2017. We kept the engagement private," she said. "He really wanted to marry on September 8 because eight means infinity. We called [wedding planner] Mindy Weiss and she did it in less than 48 hours and it was beautiful."
