We'll be the first ones to admit that wedding etiquette can get confusing—especially when it comes to what to wear as a guest. As it turns out, Oprah Winfrey knows the struggle firsthand. The TV personality had to Google a common question to decide on her outfit for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal nuptials!
In an interview with British Vogue, the celebrity revealed that she changed her outfit plans just two days before the celebration. That's no easy feat for any guest, let alone someone who had their dress custom-made. According to Winfrey, her original garment (commissioned from Stella McCartney) "looked white, not cream." "I Googled, 'Can you wear white to a wedding?' Answer: 'No, don't risk it,'" she explained. Luckily, McCartney's team pulled out all the stops and recreated the piece in pink just in time.
Elsewhere in the interview, Winfrey reflected on the beauty of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's ceremony. "It left me feeling that anything is possible through the power of love," she shared. In an upcoming issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, she expressed similar sentiments. "I was unprepared for the depth of emotion I felt stepping onto the grounds of Windsor Castle," she wrote. "It literally took my breath away. I exclaimed out loud to no one in particular, 'Whoa! This right here is a whole 'nother level!'"
Winfrey clearly has a special place in her heart for Markle, who she described in O, The Oprah Magazine as "radiant, joyful, and alive" on her wedding day. "I can't wait to see the goodness that will come from their union," she added.
