Since news first broke that Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande are engaged, the couple has all but confirmed the rumors—until now. Jimmy Fallon invited the man in question on The Tonight Show, where the Saturday Night Live star decided to put any doubt to rest.
"Now, you know that you didn't have to get engaged to Ariana Grande to come on our show," Fallon told Davidson when he arrived on the stage. "But I did, though," the comedian replied, flashing a smile and holding his thumbs up. Davidson then made it clear that he's loving his new status as a fiancé. "I feel like I won a contest," he shared, calling his engagement to Grande "so lit."
Apparently, the news has also earned him newfound respect, especially from his male fans. He told Fallon that ever since the world found out, other men see him differently. He joked that they'll see him on the street and tip their hats in admiration. "Some dude came up to me and was like, "Yo, man. You gave me hope," Davidson recalled with a laugh. Even with all the attention, though, he's staying humble. In fact, he doesn't really know what all the hype's about. "Why do people care?" he asked Fallon.
Elsewhere in the interview, Fallon made a proposal of his own: "This could be a good place to get married, on The Tonight Show," he suggested. While Davidson wasn't sold on the idea, he's clearly excited for what's to come. Of the future, he said, "I'm forever known as her plus one," something he didn't seem to mind that at all.
