"Harry Potter" Actor Matthew Lewis Is Married
The star, best known for his role as Neville Longbottom, wed blogger Angela Jones in Italy.
Actor Matthew Lewis is officially a married man. The Harry Potter alum recently exchanged vows with American lifestyle blogger Angela Jones. As for their venue? There wasn't a Hogwarts-inspired Gothic castle in sight. Alongside a wedding photo, the actor announced on Twitter that he and Jones tied the knot in lush Italy.
In his statement, Lewis also joked about missing a performance by one his favorite bands, which took place on his wedding day. "Not only did I miss @ArcticMonkeys in LA but they were performing in Italy at the same time we were there and my wife made me get married instead. Fuming," he wrote. There wasn't even a trace of his mock disappointment in the image (taken by Nancy and Piermarco of Bottega53) he shared, though, which showed the actor in a sleek black tux and bowtie walking arm-in-arm with his bride-a vision in a white sheath wedding dress, complete with dainty lace details and a short train.
Lewis and Jones first crossed paths in January 2016 at a celebration at Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Five months after coupling up in July, the twosome got engaged underneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris, reported TMZ.
Though they announced their intentions to wed early last year, Lewis maintained that the wedding planning process was on hold. "She's American, so we've got quite a lot of things to discuss about location and whatnot before we get anywhere," he told People in March 2017.
