Queer Eye's Karamo Brown is set to marry his longtime boyfriend, director Ian Jordan. The Netflix show's culture expert proposed to his partner of eight years on Wednesday night at a restaurant in Los Angeles, People reports.
The proposal wasn't the only major surprise of the night. Jordan was under the impression that Brown was taking him out on a solo date to celebrate his birthday. In reality, all of the people they love the most—including Brown's son, Jordan's family, and the rest of Queer Eye's Fab Five, Bobby Berk, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness—were all waiting to help the pair celebrate. After an emotional video and speech from Brown's son, the reality TV star got down and one knee. "I hope we can conquer the world together for the rest of our lives. Ian Lamont Jordan, will you marry me?" Brown asked, reports E! News. Jordan, of course, accepted.
Brown proposed with two engraved rings: one silver David Yurman band for his partner and a black band for himself. Jordan's newly-engaged status made his birthday, which fell on Tuesday, that much more special. This was always Brown's intention. "Happy birthday to the love of my life @theianjordan! I love you because of your heart, your humor but mostly because you don't mind serving #GlamourShots realness w/ me anytime I ask. I pray today and this year brings you everything your heart desires," he wrote on Instagram.
The former Real World star is thrilled to be engaged to his best friend. "Tonight, with the help of my sons, I asked the love of my life to marry me and he said YESSSS!" Brown said. "He is my today, tomorrow, and everything!"
