As it turns out, the British population isn't as impressed with John Krasinski as they are with his wife, Emily Blunt. While on The Tonight Show last night, the actor shared a hilarious story about his marriage to the actress, and it involves a disgruntled customs agent who couldn't quite believe that Blunt married Krasinski.
"I don't know if you know, Emily just shot a movie, it's a small indie called Mary Poppins," Krasinski joked to host Jimmy Fallon. The flick was filmed in England, and he "went to visit her all the time." "It was going great," he recalled of the travel experience, but then he met an unhappy customs agent. "I hit this guy who's about my age, and he looked like he was ready to get a little surly with me, and he said, 'It says here that you're an actor. Would I know you from anything?' I went, 'You know, we re-did the UK version of The Office.' He's like, 'Oh, I hated that version.'"

After what Krasinski called "strike one," they got to talking about the reason for his visit: his spouse. "He said, 'Would I know her?' And I said, 'I don't know man, her name's Emily Blunt.'" Apparently, the agent was shocked by the news, and immediately dismissed Krasinski in frustration!
The A Quiet Place lead (he actually co-stars with Blunt in the movie) was a good sport, however. "I married up," he told the crowd, "and don't I know it." Watch him re-tell the funny anecdote above—the facial expressions are everything.
