Adele can officially add wedding officiant to her long list of accolades. The singer confirmed on Instagram that she married two of her closest friends, English comedian Alan Carr and his now-husband, Paul Drayton, earlier this year. "Seeing as the cats out the bag. I married two of my best friends in January. You know me any excuse to dress up," she wrote. She did more than simply execute the ceremony, though—she also hosted the wedding in her home's private garden, performed during the duo's first dance, and flew them to Vegas to see Celine Dion, reported The Daily Mail.
Carr revealed his newly-married status and the songstress's significant role in his ceremony earlier this morning on an appearance on This Morning, an English talk show. He explained that he'd known Adele since she was 19-years-old. "Yeah, [it was] in January," he said, confirming the union. "We got married in Adele's back garden, in LA. I'm not giving you any postcodes! She's known me and Paul for ages."
The Chatty Man host also dished that the 25 artist became ordained specifically to officiate his wedding—and that she went completely out of her way to make his ceremony and reception the best they could be. "She said, 'I want to do your special day. I want to do everything,'" he continued. "She got ordained and she married us. She is the kindest, most sweetest. She flew us to Vegas to see Celine Dion sing. She sang my first dance."
The comedian has nothing but fond memories of his wedding day, and it was all thanks to Adele. "It was the best day of my life. She's the loveliest person going. What you see is what you get," he gushed, also commenting on her "lovely partner," Simon. "It was lovely. I just want to tell everyone. She won't say because she's so private. Flowers, three-course meal, she just planned it all. It was the best day of our life."
