Earlier this year, Ed Sheeran revealed that he proposed to his longtime love, Cherry Seaborn, near the end of 2017. Since then, the couple's kept quiet about their engagement, as well as the rest of their relationship. While we respect their wish for privacy, fans are understandably disappointed that they don't know much about the musician's future wife. Thankfully, Taylor Swift, one of Sheeran's closest friends, is here to give us a little more insight.
In a behind-the-scenes video for Swift's song "End Game," which she collaborated with Sheeran on, the singer got candid about Seaborn. "Ugh, she's the coolest," Swift said of her pal's new fiancée. She also prompted Sheeran to reveal how his relationship with Seaborn began. As it turns out, Swift played a part in their love story.
"My relationship started on the Fourth of July at Taylor's house," he began. "I was at Taylor's party, and then a girl I went to school with, who's pretty cool, ended up being in Rhode Island." Sheeran asked Swift if that girl (Seaborn) could join in the festivities, and Swift agreed. From there, the couple's romance blossomed.
A year later, at another one of Swift's Fourth of July parties, the songwriter threw her best friend's engagement party. She also acknowledged Sheeran and Seaborn's first anniversary, creating a funny sign for the pair: "HAPPY 1ST ED-IVER-CHERRY." According to Swift, it took her "so long" to think of the pun. "I'm still excited about it," she admitted in the video.
