Brooks Laich isn't shy when it comes to professing his love for wife Julianne Hough. She's the topic of the majority of his Instagram posts and stories, many of which feature photos from their 2017 Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, nuptials. A recent Instagram video, taken by Hough, showed Laich revealing that he knew he was going to marry the So You Think You Can Dance judge even before he asked her to be his girlfriend, People reports.

The couple was on their way to a romantic Paris getaway when Hough began filming her husband in the airport. "You knew you were going to marry me before I was even your girlfriend," Hough said, pointing the camera at Laich. "One hundred percent," he replied. "I measured your ring before we were even dating. Before you were even my girlfriend, I measured your ring."

Hough and Laich first crossed paths in 2014, after they were introduced by mutual friend, actor Teddy Sears, who was filming a movie with Hough. Turns out, the former Los Angeles Kings player had harboured a crush on his future wife for some time—he saw her on a Juicy Fruit commercial and was smitten. "He'd seen the commercial and was like, 'Where do I meet a girl like that?' I was the girl in the commercial!" she told Cosmopolitan in 2016. "Teddy remembered that comment and texted Brooks, 'You're never going to guess who I'm doing a movie with,'" said Hough.

Laich formally asked the dancer and actress to be his girlfriend in February 2014 and popped the question in August of the following year, reports Insider. Following a two-year-long engagement, the couple finally tied the knot in a stunning ceremony that was complete with a celebrity-studded wedding party and fireworks. For Hough, being married to Laich is the greatest joy of her life. "The first thing that I felt when we got married was, "This is the complete opposite of scary. This is like home," she told People last year.
