Meghan Trainor couldn't be happier to be engaged to the "kid from Spy Kids," and she wants the world to know it. According to People, the "All About That Bass" singer sat down with Jimmy Fallon last night and shared more about the moment actor Daryl Sabara popped the question in December.
"It was so cute…I'm so happy!" Trainor told Fallon, recalling the special moment. "I was trying to Snapchat and he told me, 'Can you put that away for a second.' I lost my voice. I was screaming, 'It's happening, yes, it's happening!'" The star was so overwhelmed that she felt like she nearly "blacked out," she joked.
The proposal may have caught her off guard, but Trainor knew that a ring was coming—she and Sabara chose a diamond together months before the snowy, family-filled moment arrived. "We picked out the ring months before, I was just waiting for him to propose," explained The Four: Battle for Stardom judge, showing off her new favorite accessory. "I told him if you're going to propose, to have my family there."
Trainor also opened up about her new album, which was partially inspired by her fiancé. "It's for everyone. It's a party. I'm in love so there are some love songs," she told Fallon. The new music was quite the labor of love—everyone in Trainor's family, including Sabara, took part in its creation. "My entire family sings on every song and Daryl sings on every song," she revealed to Entertainment Tonight earlier this month. "My father plays the piano and organs on one song. It's obviously me being in love and happy, and reminding myself to choose happiness and love myself."
