Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries may have had one of the shortest celebrity marriages of all time, but Diddy (otherwise known as Sean Combs) will now be known as having the world's shortest engagement. The hip-hop star revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that he was once engaged for four hours—something he's kept to himself for years.
The truth came out on The Ellen DeGeneres Show during a game of "Never Have I Ever," played between Diddy and his The Four co-hosts. After receiving paddles with "I Have" and "I Have Never" on either side, DeGeneres began asking a series of questions. When she got to, "Never have I got engaged and kept it a secret," D.J. Khaled, Meghan Trainor, and Fergie all asserted that they hadn't. Diddy, on the other hand, wavered before turning his paddle to "I Have." "Nah, I ain't going to lie, it was like for four hours," he admitted. "It was for four hours. I honestly did. I was engaged for four hours and I kept it a secret for forever until now."
Unfortunately, the mogul didn't drop any clues about the identity of his four-hour-fiancée, but we do have a few ideas of our own. The star dated his college girlfriend, Misa Hylton Brim, in the early '90s, and Brim gave birth to their child, Justin Dior, in 1993. Could Diddy have asked the mother of his first born to marry him? Another possibility is Kim Porter, the mother of three of his other children. Diddy and Porter dated on-and-off for nearly decade. Or perhaps he could have popped the question to a fellow celebrity: Jennifer Lopez and Diddy had a very public romance from 1999-2001. He's also been linked to supermodel Naomi Campbell.
In more recent years, Diddy has been dating the singer Cassie. The couple first took their relationship public in 2012 and just rang in the New Year together, as seen on Instagram.
