Actress Emily Blunt recently appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair to promote her newest role, the lead in Mary Poppins Returns. In her interview, though, the focus turned to another project: her collaboration with husband John Krasinski on the movie A Quiet Place. Accordingly, Vanity Fair spoke to the actor, too, and Krasinski had the sweetest things to say about his wife.
Blunt and Krasinski—who both directed, wrote for, and star in A Quiet Place—jumped at the chance to work on the movie because it reminded them of their experience with parenthood. "Much of the sort of real-life roller coaster that is parenthood is unspoken. The first time you bring your kid home from the hospital, there's no talking. You just pray they're going to be okay. When you drop your kid off at school for the first time, there's no talking. You just pray they’re going to be okay. So, there's a familiar poignancy and power to watching a family live in silence," Krasinski explained.
Nevertheless, their first collaboration scared the married couple. "I had concerns that we might kill each other," Blunt joked. Instead of causing conflict, however, the movie only reinforced Krasinski's admiration for his spouse.
"The air changes in the room when she starts doing what she does," the star shared. "It's so honest and so pure and so powerful. It's like a superpower that she can just unlock and do so specifically with not many attempts. For me, I love acting, and I'm so lucky to be doing it. But she's on another plane," he gushed.
