Marrying your best friend is probably the best part of your wedding day, unless, that is, you get a personal shout-out from Ed Sheeran. While the "Thinking Out Loud" singer has been known to surprise fans in the past, he went above and beyond to congratulate Strictly Come Dancing choreographer Jason Gilkison and his husband James Carney on their big day.
Sheeran, who performed on the show's grand finale earlier in December, created a video message for the couple, which Gilkison shared on Instagram. "Hey Jason and James, I hope you're having a fantastic wedding and doing some mental dancing, which I'm sure you are," he said. "I hope you have a fantastic rest of your lives together—lots of love, and have a great night." Gilkison and Carney were touched by the singer's message. "Ummm, yay thanks @teddysphotos !!!! Just made our night !!!!" the choreographer wrote in his post.
This isn't the first time Sheeran's made a couple's wedding dreams come true. In 2015, he gave a surprise performance at a bride's wedding after learning that she and her family were struggling with the loss of her mother. Since the bride and groom had selected "Thinking Out Loud" for their first spin, the star showed up on the dance floor to sing that song in person.
Sheeran has plenty of experience as a wedding singer—which just might make him qualified to sing at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May 2018. After receiving a medal of distinction from Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to music and charity, reporters asked the "Perfect" singer if he'd be willing to perform at the next royal nuptials. Apparently, he's more than willing. "Yeah, why not?!" he said then.
