Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli are approaching one of their biggest milestones as newlyweds: their first Christmas together! The couple, who tied the knot in March, just dished on their holiday plans, and they've clearly put some thought into making the day special.
"[It's a] newlywed Christmas, so only room for two in our house," Wiley told E! News. "We're not flying anywhere," Morelli expanded. "We're staying home." The decision makes sense in light of a recent Instagram post by the latter. "I love our house so much," she shared in October.
The spouses aren't alone in deciding to spend their first married Christmas by themselves. Sometimes the option's the best choice—and especially if you've been stressing about who's relatives to celebrate with. Back in November, Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich shared that they'd be spending the holidays alone, too. "I think we're just honestly just going to be home together," Hough told Entertainment Tonight at the time. "We've always said that, between the two families, we'll always have a year in between for ourselves."
Wiley and Morelli wed with a fun, confetti-filled ceremony and reception, which we featured in the pages of our Summer 2017 issue. Since then, they've been basking in newlywed bliss. Earlier this month, Wiley shared an Instagram photo of the couple, captioned, "Met this one 5 years ago, today. What a journey—and being with you has been the best journey of my entire life. Love you, baby." The stars also shared another snapshot together, which Wiley captioned, "Happy Holidays from us!"
