Now that Drew Scott has completed his run on Dancing with the Stars, he and fiancé Linda Phan are in full-blown wedding prep mode. The Property Brothers personality opened up to Us Weekly about what he and Phan envision for their May nuptials, and shared that planning has been "an exciting time" for the couple.
Apparently, the future Mr. and Mrs. will break out their DIY skills for their Italian wedding—which isn't a huge surprise given the fact that the groom-to-be is an HGTV star. "We're coming up with some handcrafted fun stuff for everybody, designing the cake, and designing different aspects of what we want the ceremony to look like," he explained. While the smaller wedding details are in the works, the Scott mentioned that many of the bigger aspects, like the venue and Phan's dress, still need to be nailed down. "I think once we lock down a location, everything else will be easier," Phan added. As for Scott, he has a pretty clear picture of his wedding day look. "I'm Scottish, so there will definitely be a kilt utilized," he said.
To prepare for his first dance—the couple will perform a choreographed number to MAX's "Lights Down Low" when the day comes—Scott has kept up with his Dancing with the Stars rehearsal schedule. "I want to keep practicing so I'm ready for my first dance with Linda," he explained.
Ultimately, the happy couple wants to create an event that celebrates their strong union with family and friends. "There are a lot of elements going into it, but the main thing for us is we want to spend time with our family and friends and celebrate," said Scott. The pair became engaged in December 2016, after the reality TV star proposed in a Toronto restaurant.
