Much like his wife, Kate Middleton, Prince William is thrilled about Prince Harry's engagement to actress Meghan Markle. Although, William's joy revolves around somewhat more selfish reasons. In a recent interview, the future king opened up about his former bachelor brother's penchant for raiding his and Middleton's snacks.
"We're very excited. Delighted for them both, and wishing them all the happiness in this very excting time. For me, personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge, it will stop him scrounging off of my food. He's done it the last few years," he joked to a reporter. Comedy aside, William—who's already been through the royal engagement and wedding planning process—said there's only "happy times ahead" for his brother and future sister-in-law. "It's a fantastic process to go through, you know, the engagement, and then the buildup to the wedding. I think they're very caught up in the moment, and I wish them all the happiness and success in planning the wedding. I hope it goes really well," he finished.

Harry's proximity to his brother's residence has offered advantages beyond a stocked fridge. Harry's cottage is located next to William and Kate's apartment, which made introducing Markle to his immediate family fairly simple. On Monday, the newly-engaged prince said that Markle has been able to develop a relationship with her future in-laws. "William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine, so you know, being our neighbors, we managed to get that in quite a few times now," he explained on the BBC interview. Markle said that Kate Middleton has "been wonderful," while Harry said that his brother has been a "fantastic support."
As the couple counts down to the big day, it's likely much of their time will be spent developing their relationships with each other's families. While Markle has taken "a handful of teas and meetings" at Prince Charles' residence, Harry has yet to meet his betrothed's father. "He's talked to my dad a few times, [but] hasn't been able to meet him just yet," she said. Luckily, the bigger family meet-and-greets—with the one and only Queen of England—have already taken place. According to Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth and her beloved corgis took to the future Duchess of Sussex "straight away."
