We've loved hearing about every detail of Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian's New Orleans wedding, which was first featured in Vogue, ever since the news of the couple's nuptials broke last week. The happy couple is apparently just as excited to look back on the day, as both the bride and groom have shared new photos from the wedding on social media. We've also learned more about the celebration, from what was on the menu to why the now-spouses chose the wedding date they did.
Williams and Ohanian took to Instagram to share more snapshots from their big day. They posted adorable photos of their daughter, Alexis Olympia, on the baby's very own Instagram feed. Williams also posted images showing off her short reception dress, which she danced the night away in. Another notable fashion element? The tennis pro's sparkling Nike sneakers, which she also highlighted on Insta. On his own feed, Ohanian shared multiple photos, including an adorable portrait of the couple on their celebration's merry-go-round.
Meanwhile, People sources have let the world in on the couple's delicious wedding menu. Casamigos provided tequila for the event, which was used in the pre-ceremony cucumber-jalapeno margaritas, and again in the cocktail hour's "New Fashioned" drinks. During the cocktail hour, guests picked from Chinese and New Orleans-style food trucks. At the reception, Creative Edge provided three meaningful food stations: Italian (Williams and Ohanian met in the country's capital), Southern (Williams loves the food), and Armenian (a nod to Ohanian's routes). There was also a salad wall (?!) and a steak station.
As for how the couple chose their Thursday-evening wedding date, Williams and Ohanian made the decision for one incredibly touching reason: According to People, the event honored the groom's late mother by taking place on her birthday.
