Ten years-to the day!-after marrying Chris Ivery, Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo opened up about their private wedding. On November 9, exactly one decade after she and Ivery wed, Pompeo told Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa that the couple made it official in New York City without a single wedding guest in attendance.

The couple's officiant, however, was pretty high-profile. "We got married here in City Hall and Mayor Bloomberg was our officiator," she explained. "Yeah, it was very cool." It was also very top-secret. "They took us on the subway underneath a tunnel. There are tunnels underneath City Hall!" Pompeo explained. "And then you come up, and you're in the mayor's office. There's a bookshelf and then, you just walk in and you're in his office."

The wedding took place during the fourth season of Pompeo's hit Grey's Anatomy, which meant she had reached peak-celebrity status. "At that point, I was really dying for privacy. So we flew out on a redeye Thursday night. Friday morning, we woke up, went to City Hall, had the wedding really quick, and then we went to a waffle lunch after," she revealed. "We had the whole weekend and no one knew." The newlyweds finished off the weekend with a Knicks game before flying home to California.

Pompeo and Ivery met in a Los Angeles grocery store in 2003 and began dating six months later. After a few years together, Ivery proposed on the actress's 37th birthday. Today, they share three children, Stella, Sienna, and Eli. Pompeo rarely talks about her husband in the press, but she isn't shy about posting about him (and her kids!) on social media. "Chris Ivery just fell a notch…I've got a new guy," she joked on Instagram, with a photo of her husband cuddling their newborn son.
