Morning Joe co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough recently took their on-screen chemistry off-set and announced that they were engaged. To celebrate the big moment in their lives, the news presenters just had an engagement party, and their guest list was full of big names.
On Thursday, Brzezinski and Scarborough stepped out for a get-together with some of their nearest and dearest. According to People, the party took place in New York City at Morning Joe contributor Steve Rattner's Fifth Avenue apartment.
The couple casts a wide net when it comes to their friend group—multiple stars from various industries attended the celebration. Among them were news anchor Gayle King, former Secretary of State John Kerry, the city's newly-reelected major Bill De Blasio, Reverend Al Sharpton, and fashion editor André Leon Talley. Our very own Martha Stewart also made an appearance!
Brzezinski and Scarborough got engaged earlier this year while on a trip to France and Monaco. The vacation was planned for Brzezinski's birthday, but doubled as the perfect opportunity for Scarborough to propose. According to a Page Six source, "Joe got down on one knee and proposed old-fashioned-style with a ring. Of course, Mika accepted. They came back from the trip on Cloud Nine." "There are no wedding plans as of yet," the insider added then. Another source shared that "Mika turned 50 and realized she wanted to move forward with her life and spend every minute with Joe, and not just at work."
