Before today, everyone believed that Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet married in 2007. But according to Us Weekly's sources, the former Game of Thrones star and Cosby Show alum only recently "made it official."
"Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet had an official wedding a few weeks ago at their house in Topanga, California," one insider revealed. "Apparently they weren't officially married until then!" Another source confirmed that the couple purchased a marriage license on October 2, one week before the ceremony. Reports said the celebration was a huge affair, attended by several of Hollywood's biggest names. Bonet's daughter, Zoë Kravitz, was in attendance, as were newlyweds Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander.
Several of Momoa's former costars and castmates reportedly came out to celebrate with the couple. "He stays close with the people he works with on movies and is a really nice guy," the first source explained. "It was a big party and people came from out of town to attend." The couple's party might have been over the top, but the wedding was casual overall. According to a Facebook user who's friend attended the nuptials, Momoa wore an unbuttoned shirt and a lei. We're not sure what Bonet chose for her walk down the aisle, but rumor has it that several guests performed a Māori haka, a traditional New Zealand dance, for the bride.
Momoa and Bonet first met in 2005, when they were introduced by a mutual friend. Today, they share two young children, Lola and Nakoa-Wolf. The Conan the Barbarian actor had his eye on Bonet long before they began dating—as a child, he watched her on The Crosby Show and developed a crush. "The first time [we met] I was like, 'I want that one. I want her. I'm going to get her,'" he told Katie Couric in 2014. "I didn't tell her until after we had our two children."
