Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are as serious as ever, as evidenced by their recent appearance at Harry's Invictus Games. The duo was seen smooching and cozying up together, marking their first public outing as a couple. This comes after Markle's cover story with Vanity Fair, in which she openly spoke about their relationship for the first time. It's safe to say that these events mark a big shift for the pair—previously, they had been quite private. Now, speculation surrounding their potential engagement is even stronger, and according to one source, it should be!
E! News interviewed a source close to the couple, who shared that they're in it for the long haul. "While Meghan may not be wearing a ring or a formal engagement announced, it's fair to say they're as good as engaged now," the insider shared. "They've spoken about their marriage plans openly with each other and friends and family around them are pretty much thinking about wedding attire already!"
The source also commented on the couple's first public appearance. "[Harry] was just in a great mood and they kind of looked at each other before like, 'Shall we just get this over with?' In a way, they wish they didn't leave it for so long because after that initial moment was gone, it suddenly felt very easy to be out there as a couple."
Additionally, the insider confirmed that Harry is tight with Markle's mother, Doria Radlan—another good sign for fans shipping the couple. "This week wasn't the first time that Harry met Doria. They actually met late last year so they're very close now. Doria sees Harry as one of the family and he sees her like family too," the person explained, adding that "Harry has become close with all of Meghan's closest friends" as well.
