Tori Kelly is going to be a bride! The singer just got engaged to German basketball player André Murillo, and both announced the exciting news on social media.
Over the weekend, Kelly subtly revealed the news of her engagement on Instagram, posting a photo showing off her new diamond ring. In the image, she looks surprised as Murillo stands smiling behind her. Murillo posted his own Instagram photo, this time a shot of the couple hugging. His caption made the news much clearer. "To have and to hold… To cherish and protect. My best friend said 'yes,'" he wrote.
According to People, multiple celebrities congratulated the couple on their engagement, including Jordin Sparks and Mitch Grassi of Pentatonix.
Kelly is a musical artist who got her start performing covers of songs on YouTube. After being noticed, she signed with a label and released her first album, Unbreakable Smile, in 2015. She won Billboard Women in Music's Breakthrough Artist award the same year, and has been nominated for other huge honors, including the Grammy Awards' Best New Artist title in 2016. She also provided her voice for the recent animated movie Sing. Murillo is a professional athlete.
The couple hasn't been shy about being adorable in the public eye, with both halves of the newly-engaged pair frequently posting sweet photos together on Instagram. Recently, Kelly shared a snapshot of Murillo lifting her into the air. Meanwhile, Murillo shared a selfie with his now-fiancée. "Lucked up," he captioned that image.
