Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin got married this past June, and their wedding date—which doubled as Baccarin's birthday—had some scratching their heads. Was the timing intentional, and is Baccarin happy that her two big days share the same spot on the calendar? McKenzie's finally spoken out about the decision.
On Harry last night, the actor shared the thought process behind the couple's wedding date. "I just got hitched," he first shared to the crowd, showing off his new ring. "We wanted to get married at the Botanic Gardens in Brooklyn, which was beautiful," he went on. "When we wanted to book it, which was over a year in advance, in our defense, the only date available was my wife's birthday." Apparently, the spouses were so committed to the venue that they compromised on when the wedding was held.
So, how do the newlyweds feel about the overlap? "It is sweet, or so I thought," McKenzie explained. "Half of her loves that," he said of Baccarin, "and half of her just wants me to be clear that she's going to get a birthday present, and there's going to be an anniversary gift, and it's a whole week." "The good news is, if I do it right, it's going to be a great year, every year," he joked. "But if I forget anniversary and birthday, it's going to be a bad year."
