After spending time with their son, tying the knot in a luxe wedding, and hosting a cool post-wedding pool party, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are ready to get back to their roots. The couple is already preparing for season 25 of their show, Dancing with the Stars. In an interview with Good Morning America on Thursday, Chmerkovskiy shared their plans.
When asked if he was ready to compete against his wife, Chmerkovskiy played it cool. "Who, me?" he joked. "Who's competing against anybody? This is going to be a beautiful show, everybody's going to be friends," he added. "No, we're excited," he shared. "How much Dancing with the Stars last season helped both of us, Peta, physically, and myself as well," he admitted, "it really helped us out. I think coming back this season, we're coming back with the same sort of approach. We just want to have fun."
Of course, there are some downsides to constant filming. "Since last season ended, we got back into, sort of like, enjoying Shai's little moments, and these moments are incredible. Every day something new happens that is just fascinating, that makes you not want to leave the house," Chmerkovskiy revealed. Nonetheless, he's excited to spend time doing what he loves with his wife by his side.
This season, Mark Ballas will also be returning, after taking two seasons off. Ballas married his music partner, BC Jean, in a ceremony last year. Now that the couple's released a new EP under their band name, Alexander Jean, Ballas can focus on dancing.
