What Miley Cyrus Learned About Marriage from Her Parents
It says a lot about her relationship with Liam Hemsworth.
Miley Cyrus knows a thing or two about love-she and Liam Hemsworth have been on and off again for years. But that doesn't mean that the famous singer can't learn a little from others. In an interview for her latest cover of Cosmopolitan magazine, the star revealed the lesson she's garnered from watching her parents' relationship.
When asked what she's learned about marriage from her 'rents, Cyrus gave some sage advice for other couples to consider. "Nothing and no one stays the same," she shared, adding "Grow, evolve, change with each other, and celebrate your love's journey!" While we can't say exactly how Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus taught their daughter that, we can say that the words are wise, and definitely worth considering!
The comment also reflects on the singer's own love life, which has publicly had its ups and downs. After splitting with Hemsworth after getting engaged, the couple is back together, and seemingly better than ever. Her latest hit song, "Malibu," is all about Hemsworth. In an interview about the single, she spoke about her relationship and what she had to say sounds super similar to her marriage advice. "I needed to change so much," Cyrus shared then. "And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard. Suddenly you're like, 'I don't recognize you anymore.' We had to refall for each other." "I never would've believed you if three years ago you told me I'd be here writing this song," she added. "[People] are going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, 'This is how I feel'?"
Whatever the case, Cyrus is clearly wise beyond her years, and apparently we have her parents to thank!
