Serena Williams has had a busy year. She got engaged last December and announced her pregnancy this April! With all of that commotion, can you imagine planning a wedding? Neither can the tennis star. The athlete recently chatted with E! News and addressed rumors about secretly tying the knot.
"It hasn't happened yet, not that I am aware of!" Williams joked. "No, we are still waiting. There was a bridal shower, and after the bridal comes the bachelorette [party]," she shared, before acknowledging her baby bump. "Which is not gonna happen right now!" Does that mean she and fiancé Alexis Ohanian won't be getting married until after their child is born? (Now that we think about it, that's a very reasonable decision!)
The star also addressed her pregnancy, sharing what it's like for her to be expecting. "I have been really fortunate and I have had a really good pregnancy, and everything has just been really good," she shared. "Sometimes I am walking in my house, and I'm like, 'I really like being pregnant.' I never thought I would say that. I am definitely [the type] that enjoys it."
Though while Williams previously told Vanity Fair that she'd be back on the court just months after giving birth, she's since changed her tune. "If you know me, you know that I have the most unrealistic goals," she admitted. "I'm having a baby in the fall, and I am talking about playing in January. That is ridiculous! But who knows. If it happens, great, but if it doesn't happen, it's not the end of the world. I am okay with that, too. Big deal, I will just keep going until the next goal!"
We love how grounded the champion always is.
