Are those wedding bells we hear in the background? Jedediah Bila is ready to tie the knot! The View co-host got engaged to boyfriend Jeremy Scher over the weekend, and Bila announced the big news on Monday's program to some major on-air applause.
"Can anyone in the audience see anything different about me?" Bila asked after a little bit of prompting from co-host Whoopi Goldberg. She then showed off her left hand—and its sparkling addition. "He surprised me, took me to a bed and breakfast," she said of Scher's proposal, adding that even though the whole thing was a surprise, there was one clue her newly minted fiancé had more than a quick vacay in mind.
"The only sign that something was up is that he's always late to get ready," she explained, according to ET. "He was fully dressed an hour early," Bila said, laughing. "I was like, 'Something's happening!' I didn't know what it was. It was wonderful." Fortunately, it sounds like Scher was able to keep his pre-proposal nerves under wraps long enough to maintain his cover!
But Bila didn't only share the big news on The View. She also added an adorable photo of the proposal itself to Instagram, writing, "She said yes," in the caption. The snap features Scher down on one knee and Bila looking pretty overcome with excitement and emotion. How sweet!
And her friends at The View got down to wedding-planning business right away. First task? Thinking about the bridesmaids. The team photoshopped images of each co-host's face onto a shot of bridesmaids in pink gowns, with Bila's face on the bride. While we're not entirely sure this will be the actual wedding party, it's a pretty hilarious picture.
Congratulations to the happy bride-to-be! We'll keep our fingers crossed for wedding planning updates on future episodes of The View.
