Joe Biden Officiated a Wedding Over Memorial Day Weekend
And it was his second time!
Joe Biden may no longer be the vice president of the United States, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have another gig lined up. His latest endeavor? Wedding officiant! Biden performed his first wedding in August (when White House staffers Brian Mosteller and Joe Mahshie tied the knot) and just this weekend, People reports, the former VP took on the role of officiant once again. As part of his Memorial Day weekend celebrations, Biden led the nuptials of Henry Munoz and Kyle Ferrari.
Munoz, the Finance Chair of the Democratic National Committee, married Ferrari in what appears to be an intimate ceremony that took place on Saturday afternoon. Thanks to actress Melanie Griffith, a friend of the couple, we got an inside look at the ceremony. The happy couple both dressed in blue suits for their special day while Biden donned a darker navy ensemble.
"My dearest friends Henry Munoz and Kyle Ferrari were married today by VP Joe Biden," Griffith captioned a photo of the couple. "Wishing them everlasting love and joyous life journey!!!"
Last August, Biden officiated the wedding of White House staffers Brian Mosteller and Joe Mashie, which took place at the vice president's official residence, the Naval Observatory. For that special occasion, Biden obtained a temporary certification from the District of Columbia in order to perform the ceremony. "Proud to marry Brian and Joe at my house. Couldn't be happier, two longtime White House staffers, two great guys," the former vice president captioned a photo on Twitter at the time. His wife, Dr. Jill Biden, echoed his sentiments by tweeting "Love is love!" of the event.
