It looks like Operation Baby Watch has begun for George and Amal Clooney. The couple, who are expecting twins in June, have already started prepping for parenthood, and even taken a little time to themselves for a babymoon–but now they appear to be officially on lockdown waiting for their new bundles of joy to arrive!
George may have originally planned to attend the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity ceremony in Yerevan, Armenia, on Sunday, but the actor ended up skipping the event and submitted a video message explaining why he couldn't be present instead. "I really would have been there [in Yerevan]," George said, according to People. "But if I came there and my wife had twins while I was there, I could never come home." Good point, George! We can't imagine Amal would be too excited to go into labor with her partner a plane flight away.
Just last year the actor, who is also a member of the prize's selection committee, was present at the event for its inaugural ceremony to honor the victims of Armenian genocide. And Amal, a human rights attorney, has also worked on behalf of those same victims. But as near and dear as their work is to the couple, the upcoming birth of their children is definitely shifting their focus!
As for more baby news? An insider previously shared with People that "everything's going well with Amal's pregnancy," and that the soon-to-be parents are "very happy" about the twins. George himself even opened up about the big news earlier this year, gushing about Amal. "She is doing really great. She is amazing," he said, adding that he knows what he's in for once the babies arrive. "I know swaddling." We just know these two are going to be fantastic parents.
