What better way to surprise your husband before his playoff game than by singing the National Anthem in front of the sold out arena? By the looks of the stunt that Carrie Underwood pulled off at her husband Mike Fisher's game, nothing could be sweeter. Last night, the Nashville Predators (captained by Fisher) faced the Chicago Blackhawks in the first-round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. But before the players got into the ready position on the ice, the crowd was treated to a sweet performance by none other than Fisher's American Idol winner wife.
The game's announcer broke the news of Underwood's surprise performance by telling fans, "Please rise and welcome seven-time Grammy winner and longtime Nashville Predators fan Carrie Underwood." Needless to say, the entire arena was totally surprised and cheered the country singer on—including Fisher. And of course, Underwood hit every note and finished her performance with a towel wave.
Although the crowd went crazy over the surprise performance, it was clearly a special treat for Fisher, who was in total shock to see Underwood step out onto the ice. There's no better way for your wife to wish you luck than by making her support evident in front of the entire crowd, and then cheering you on throughout the game. "I'm like: 'Yeah! Get 'em!'," Underwood told People in February about watching her husband play. "I'm screaming at the TV, or if I'm there I'm screaming and yelling at the refs. It's good. I'm in it!" She even posted a picture of herself on Instagram wearing a Predators hat.
To top off the night? The Nashville Predators won, and it may have been Underwood's surprise performance that gave Fisher and his teammates the luck they needed.
