ABC's hit drama, Scandal, aired its 100th episode this past Thursday and though it was filled with all of the drama we've come to know and love, there was one unexpected surprise that we couldn't get enough of: The beautiful wedding dress Olivia Pope, played by Kerry Washington, wore for an alternative-reality trip down the aisle. Spoiler alert! Pope wasn't actually getting married during the episode, which gave fans an idea of what life would have been like if Oliva, Cyrus, and Mellie didn't rig the election. But that doesn't mean we can't still swoon over her perfect dress.
The off-the-shoulder Kalika silk dress featured cap sleeves and a chiffon bodice, giving us some serious bridal envy. In true Olivia Pope fashion, the gown's ball gown skirt was an elegant and classy choice for the incredibly well-dressed character. The designer behind the timeless look of the attention-grabbing dress was none other than Anne Barge, whose wedding dresses have been seen on celebrities like Laura Benanti, Leah Pipes, and Kristin Cavallari.
According to the show's costume designer, Lyn Paolo, Barge's "Berkley" design couldn't have been a more perfect pick. "Anne Barge was an amazing find for Olivia," says Paolo. "We looked for a dream gown and Anne delivered. Olivia looked stunning in the gown and I could not be more thrilled."
Barge was also overjoyed about the show's design choice. "Berkeley is one of my most special gowns," says the Atlanta-based designer. "It is both timeless and chic, perfect for a modern, classic bride." Want a similar look for your own day? As it turns out, you can have this exact dress! Anne Barge's "Berkley" gown is available for order now, at a retail price of $4,500. If Pope's wedding gown gave you heart-eyes, then this dress is the perfect pick!
