Jenny from the Block is using her star power to spread the love. At the Monday night performance of her "All I Have" show in Las Vegas, Jennifer Lopez helped one dancer propose to another mid-concert. Lake Smits, who danced with J.Lo for three years, proposed on stage to dance captain Tera Perez with the help of the singer.
In the video Perez later shared, you can see J.Lo watching from the side as Smits gets down on one knee. "She said yes!" J.Lo exclaimed. "I love these two! He's danced with me for me for many years, Tera's danced for me for so many years. Thank you for letting us have this moment. We love you so much!"
Perez told Entertainment Tonight that Smits talked to J.Lo earlier in the week to plan an amazing proposal, which totally shocked her. "I had no idea Lake was even in Vegas, or at the show at all," she said. "He was hiding in the back of the theater watching the entire show alongside my parents, his mom and sister." Perez also shared that J.Lo's Dance Again World Tour in 2012 "played a huge role in our relationship." Even though the couple only got engaged two days ago, they already have a date in mind. "We are hoping to plan a wedding sometime next year, in 2018, but with the engagement being so new, we are definitely happy enjoying this moment in love and taking it in!" Perez said.
With J.Lo playing a huge part in their relationship, we can only hope she'll attend the wedding—and maybe even perform! "She is family to us and we love her, and all that would matter is that she's just there sharing our special day," Perez said. Congrats to the bride- and groom-to-be!
